This area is very similar to Bärensteine: short approaches, easy access, and relatively small peaks. Several peaks are a popular choice for introductory courses and families, but you can also find a handful of routes in the highest end of the scale. A downside is that, with some exceptions, peaks need a long time to dry out after rain and thus remain humid throughout the year. Climbs are usually short (~ 10 to 20 meters) but with a lot of variety: it’s a great place to practice chimneys, dihedrals,friction slabs, and jamming. Two highlights not to miss are the Nonne and the Rauensteinturm.
